Competitive Performances.
From the very first year of the choir’s existence it has performed at choral festivals and in choral competitions throughout the country. We are very proud of our successes and achievements particularly at Arklow, New Ross AIMS Festival, the Cork International Choral Festival and the International Franz Schubert Choir Competition in Vienna.
It was a requirement of the Franz Schubert Choir Competition in Vienna that along with a Schubert piece we would perform a piece from our homeland. It was a great honour, privilege and proud moment for us to perform “Come the Sails”. This piece was originally written for the historic visit of the “Tall Ships” to Waterford and had been specially arranged and adapted for the Waterford Male Voice Choir by Waterford composer the late Sue Furlong, pictured below.
