Vadstena Ladies Choir - Sweden

Two local choirs “Coro Domingo” and “TonArt”  have temporarily combined and are performing together as Vadstena Ladies Choir. Their repertoire includes music from classical to rock, traditional choir pieces and popular music. Their main performing scene is Vadstena and its surroundings and their objective, according to their conductor, is ‘to spread happiness and share the joy of singing’!

Baerum Kammerkor - Norway

Visiting - Baerum Kammerkor 4.jpg

We have very fond memories of meeting Baerum Kammerkor, a prizewinning Gold Standard Norwegian choir, in Vienna together with their very talented conductor Ingeborg Aadland. We shared a hotel with the Norwegian choir while in Vienna and there were many post rehearsal and concert sing-songs in the adjoining premises that curiously was a bicycle shop by day and a pub by night! Our musicians Declan, Tony and Co. were very much to the fore providing music and entertainment late into the night – every night!

Having explained that Waterford was Irelands oldest city that had a great Viking history going back to the 9th century (in fact some of us may have been related) they expressed a great wish to come and visit our beautiful city. And so it came to pass in 2017 our Norwegian friends came to Waterford and performed in concert with us at the magnificent Christ Church Cathedral. Great credit must go to choir member Gerry Meagher who together with his wife Roseanne arranged the entire itinerary for our visitors stay in Waterford. The Lord Mayor of Waterford Mr. Adam Wyse very graciously hosted a reception for our Norwegian visitors in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

Lancaster Bible College Choir from Pennsylvania in the USA has visited Waterford on two occasions giving two magical performances with the Waterford Male Voice Choir. On their first visit they performed at Ballyduff Parish Church and on the second occasion performed at the Holy Cross Church Tramore.

The Lancaster Bible College Chorale is the flagship ensemble of the college. The 40-voice Chorale is a highly-selective ensemble made up of students from every department in the College. The LBC Chamber Singers, who are all members of the Chorale, is a 14-voice a cappella group that performs a variety of repertoire spanning multiple styles from Renaissance choral masterpieces to world music.  Together, the groups perform for several college and community events each year.  The choir has toured throughout the Northeast United States, Spain, Ireland, and China. Always eager to pursue unique musical opportunities, the LBC Chorale appears on recordings with Irish songwriter Declan O’Rourke.
